  • Cabinet meeting decides to extend lockdown order till May 7

    Baishakh,A meeting of the Council of Ministers held today has decided to extend the stay-at-home order till May 7 as a measure to prevent the possible risk of COVID-19.

    The cabinet meeting held at the Prime Minister’s official residence took such decision to extend the lockdown order till May 7 midnight, government Spokesperson and Minister for Communications and Information Technology Dr Yubaraj Khatiwada told the media after the meeting.

    Similarly, the international border points have been sealed off till May 13 midnight. Dr Khatiwada, who is also the Minister for Finance, said that the international border points would remain closed for human mobility till May 31 so as to prevent the risk of coronavirus from the other countries.

    Furthermore, the government decided to send migrant workers from Nepal to South Korea under the Employment Permit System (EPS) on the basis of mutual consultations and agreement between the two countries, Dr Khatiwada said.
